Next city election is November 3, 2026 and will be combined with the General elections with Minnehaha County.
- The County is in charge of Primary and General Elections and information is available Here. Visit the county website for more information or visit sdsos.gov to look up your polling site.
- The School is in charge of school elections and have different polling places.
NOTICE OF VACANCY
MUNICIPALITY OF BRANDON
The following offices will become vacant due to the expiration of the present term of office of the elective officer:
City Council, Alderman Ward 1, 4-year term
City Council, Alderman Ward 3, 4-year term
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on July 3rd, 2026 and petitions may be filed in the office of the finance officer located at 304 S Main Avenue, Brandon, South Dakota between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., central time, not later than the 18th day of August 2026, or mailed by the registered mail not later than the 18th day of August, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. central time.

Ward 1 votes at Brandon City Council Chambers - 308 S Main Ave
Ward 2 votes at the Brandon Fire Station - 401 N Sioux Blvd
Ward 3 votes at the Brandon Municipal Golf Course - 2100 E Aspen Blvd
