Regulation of Fireworks in Brandon City Limits
REGULATION OF FIREWORKS IN THE CITY LIMITS OF BRANDON: Ordinance 7-1 allows the discharge of up to 1.4G consumer grade fireworks on July 3rd and 4th from 10:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. only, when purchased from a licensed retail outlet. The discharge of fireworks on public sidewalk, street, alleyway or public property remains prohibited. Any person discharging fireworks outside the approved dates and time, or on public land, is still subject to a $250.00 fine. View the Ordinance 7-1 for full details.
The Brandon Police Department would like to remind everyone about the importance of safety when it comes to fireworks. All minors utilizing fireworks should be under adult supervision, everyone should be conscious of the possibility of property damage when fireworks are discharged in an unsafe or reckless manner, and fireworks may not be discharged from any roadway or public property. In addition, we ask that all residents who discharge fireworks clean up any debris related to the discharges.
We hope all residents and guests have a safe and festive 4th of July Holiday.
