Aspen Boulevard Corridor Study

About the Study:

This corridor planning study is for Aspen Boulevard/Minnehaha County Road 138 from South Dakota Highway 11/Splitrock Boulevard to 484th Avenue/Minnehaha County Road 109 in the City of Brandon and Minnehaha County. The Study will be performed in association with Minnehaha County, The Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and the the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). 

 

The Study Objectives and Goals:

  • Create a corridor plan that improves transportation efficiency, safety and sustainability to growing adjacent neighborhoods, commercial areas, and schools
  • Determine future corridor roadway capacity needs
  • Determine future intersection improvements needs and controls
  • Develop plan to provide pedestrian and bicycle facilities and connectivity along Aspen Boulevard
  • Develop alternative corridor concept plans that provide implementation guidance for recommended improvements
  • Encourage public and agency participation in the planning process to create a long-term plan for the corridor that supports all users and stakeholders

 

Study Advisory Team

A Study Advisory Team has been formed to guide the Aspen Boulevard Corridor Study through the final report. The Study Advisory Team is comprised of representatives from:

  • South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT)
  • U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
  • Sioux Falls Metropolitan Organization (MPO)
  • Minnehaha County
  • City of Brandon
